ISOBUTYLENE CYLINDER SCRAPPING INSTRUCTIONS

PID Analyzers, LLC, does not accept empty calibration gas canisters. However, below are instructions regarding the proper disposal of empty calibration gas cylinders (calibration gas refers to the 17 liter, 100 ppm isobutylene in air canisters).

1. Using a properly installed regulator, slowly vent residual gas UNTIL empty.

2. Vent gas slowly into a well ventilated area, preferably outdoors

3. Vent mixture of noxious or toxic gases in a fume hood.

4. If cylinder has a valve, close valve, remove regulator, then slowly reopen valve to verify empty status.

5. Let valve open and remove or deface any hazardous materials information labels.

6. DO NOT remove mazrkings which prohibit refilling the cylinder.

7. Cylinder may be recycled as scrap metal or discarded as solid waste.

8. Check with local authority to ensure local regulatory compliance.
